I found my passion for working with teenagers and young adults experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Through my experience, I have developed a deep understanding of how negative thought processes and beliefs can affect an individual’s well-being and self-concept. Through the therapeutic relationship,  my goal through the therapeutic relationship is to help clients identify and nurture a positive self-concept. My desire is to foster hope and growth for people. 

I am credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Michigan. 

I have earned a Bachelor of Science from Grace College, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MA) from Moody Theological Seminary. I'm responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals and families.

During my clinical experience as a therapist I have had the opportunity to work with many different populations of people, often walking alongside them while experiencing a range of life circumstances. Some people experience profound lows, while others find peace through forgiving the past.  One of the most impressive characteristics that many of the brave people I have met share is that of perseverance. My desire is to encourage perseverance in the face of difficulty (trauma, grief, loss, mental illness, addiction). This fosters wisdom and maturity within our therapeutic relationship, while developing sustainable coping skills for ongoing stability across various life areas.

Areas of treatment competency: anxiety, depression, parenting support, surviving childhood sexual abuse/assault, surviving adult domestic violence and/or abuse, alcohol/drug abuse and addiction/family support, co-dependency, mood disorder, impulse-control, post-partum issues and PTSD. 

I am credentialed as a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) in the state of Michigan. I am also certified through the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals and the International Certification of Reciprocity Consortium as an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

I have earned a bachelor of Arts from Anderson University and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MA) from Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, MI.

My passion is working with teenagers and young adults to help them manage through life difficulties and help them grow in seeing their full potential. Therapy is an individual experience, and each need is different. I believe that our experiences are our superpowers in learning and growing. Just like a superhero in a movie, they need to learn and adapt to their new powers; therapy can support that growth. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, oppositional behaviors, sadness, struggles to adjust in school, struggles in peer relationships or family struggles I am here to listen, support and help foster growth. 

I have experience working in a variety of settings and utilizing creative methods tailored to your individualized needs. I have a passion for tapping into individuals' creative sides through mediums like music and art. I also have a passion for connecting physical activity in supporting overall mental health and physical health. Promoting balance within an individual's mind, body, and spirit.

I am credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan. I use a variety of strength-based approaches to help clients reach their goals. I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and can utilize informed approaches in supporting growth. I look forward to meeting with you and learning how I can best support you in being the best version of yourself.

I love to help people in all stages of life who want to take steps towards healing!

I enjoy working with kids, teens, and adults as they process the various struggles they face.  One of my passions in counseling is working with children.  I love providing children the ability to learn new ways to approach life's transitions and challenges. When life doesn't go as expected, children are often left to adapt on their own. Having the right tools can change everything.

Ultimately, my desire and heart is to help my clients walk away feeling heard and encouraged. Everyone needs someone to come alongside them to be on their team and help them feel valued.

I found my passion for working with kids and teenagers and the importance of supporting them when experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression when working in the school setting. When working with kids and teens, I find partnering and working with their parents is essential. It is because of this that I completed the training to provide Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), in order to partner with parents to reduce their child’s anxiety and improve their emotional and overall well-being. SPACE is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety-related disorders and OCD and was developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center. I am credentialed as a Licensed Master Social Worker - Clinical in the State of Michigan. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. 

In my free time I love spending time with my family, friends, and two pups. I enjoy lattes and spending time outside, no matter if it is time spent in the garden, out on a walk, or hiking the National Parks on vacations. .
